Who can apply for an MD fellowship?
Medical students who study in Germany and pursue an experimentally demanding and hypothesis-driven MD project in basic biomedical research.
- Applicants should be no more than 24 years of age and may apply after having gained good marks (2,0 or better) in the intermediate examination (Physikum) and during the subsequent studies.
- Applicants must interrupt their studies, temporarily change the working place (institution and city) and dedicate their entire time to research.
We do not support
- Applied research, such as studies on the course of diseases or the treatment of symptoms, biotechnological and pharmaceutical development.
- Furthermore, the MD fellowships cannot be used to supplement inadequate funding from other institutions or earned incomes, to bridge temporary financial difficulties or to complete investigations already sponsored by other sources or institutions.
